James W. Tooman, President


James W. Tooman is an honors graduate from the University of Northern Iowa – B.A. Business (Major: Accounting). Jim began his professional career as a CPA in practice at the senior level for five years in the audit and tax departments of KPMG, a large international CPA firm. Thereafter, he was a senior financial executive for a number of highly successful development and home building firms including his own real estate development entity in connection with building many single-family detached and attached home projects.

Subsequently, Jim performed COO and CFO services for various levels of companies as well as providing consulting and capital finding services via his co-ownership in a strategic consulting firm. Jim also became a Series 7 & 63 NASD registered representative for an investment banking firm specializing in corporate financing and M&A placement activities for numerous companies.

In 2012, Jim began active efforts with a long established New York City based Mergers & Acquisitions firm (an International Network of M&A Business Brokers) as a Senior M&A Business Broker. Over the years with the firm, Jim performed extensive M&A related activities and along with the M&A transaction closing process. In 2020, Jim exited the firm to perform M&A transactions only through his entity, Suncor Resources, Inc.

Suncor Resources, Inc. services M&A transaction events for small to mid-size seller companies. He augments these efforts by maintaining and developing relationships with buyer entities for the purposes of M&A transactions. Jim’s expertise and empirical body of knowledge continues to support his activities and interaction with companies that wish to pursue an exit event at a current or future time period.

Suncor Resources performs CFO Consulting services for entities on a selected basis. He utilizes the combination of his actual CFO position(s) experience along with his investment banking body of knowledge re: sound financial performance and metrics, including what third party debt and equity sources look for in providing growth and/or exit capital.
